Sindh govt spokesperson
Sindh government publicly denounced Punjab's lack of a functional local government system, labelling this absence as a form of injustice to the public
The spokesperson criticized that Punjab’s Chief Minister often has to personally oversee tasks like opening clogged drains and organizing municipal sanitation—responsibilities that should rightfully lie with local government.
She commended the active municipal bodies in Sindh—especially during Eid al-Adha—highlighting outstanding sanitation efforts in Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur, and Larkana. She went so far as to call staff of the Solid Waste Management Boards “the real heroes of Eid”
The spokesperson demanded that the Punjab government promptly proceed with holding local government elections to restore municipal accountability and efficiency.
