More than 600 residents of Faisalabad were admitted to Allied, Civil and General Hospitals after suffering from gastroenteritis, reportedly due to the consumption of spicy and unhygienic food during Eid-ul-Adha celebrations.
According to details surfaced on Monday, the health experts have urged the public to avoid excessive consumption of spicy and oily foods to prevent gastrointestinal issues. "Residents should practise moderation and ensure proper hygiene when preparing food," the doctors advised.
During Eid-ul-Azha, many citizens indulged in heavy and spicy traditional dishes, which reportedly led to a surge in stomach-related ailments across the city.
It is pertinent to note that over 150 inexperienced butchers were also injured while slaughtering animals and were taken to emergency departments for treatment.
