The State of Qatar has issued a forceful condemnation of recent remarks from the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, calling them “inflammatory” and lacking “the most basic standards of political and moral responsibility.”
In a strongly worded statement, Qatar accused Israel of using distorted narratives to justify ongoing aggression against civilians in Gaza under the guise of defending “civilization.”
The Qatari government highlighted that its efforts—conducted in coordination with the United States and Egypt—have been pivotal in securing the release of at least 138 hostages, a result achieved through diplomacy, not military force. “A legitimate question must be raised,” the statement read, challenging the Israeli claim that military operations alone led to such breakthroughs.
Qatar also condemned what it described as one of the worst humanitarian crises of the modern era unfolding in Gaza, citing a “suffocating blockade, systematic starvation, denial of medicine and shelter, and the use of humanitarian aid as political leverage.” The statement questioned whether this constituted the “model of civilization” Israel claims to defend.
Rejecting accusations that its mediation efforts are biased, Qatar reaffirmed that its foreign policy remains grounded in impartiality, the defense of human rights, and unwavering support for international law. It criticized ongoing political pressure campaigns aimed at undermining its role and vowed to continue advocating for oppressed populations without exception.
Qatar reiterated its call for an immediate ceasefire, unimpeded humanitarian access, and a just, durable peace. It underscored its longstanding position that peace can only be achieved through a comprehensive settlement based on international legitimacy—chief among them, the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
