The Lahore High Court (LHC) has scheduled the hearing of petitions against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) 2014 sit-in for October 10.
A three-member full bench, headed by Chief Justice Alia Neelam, will preside over the case.
The petitions, originally filed by lawyer AK Dogar, challenge the legality of the PTI's prolonged sit-in held in Islamabad in 2014. However, Dogar, who played a pivotal role in bringing the case forward, has since passed away.
The LHC’s Registrar's Office has issued the cause list for the upcoming hearing. The case, which has been pending for several years, will now be reviewed by the full bench as it prepares to consider the legal challenges surrounding the 2014 protests.
The PTI's sit-in, which lasted 126 days, was held to protest alleged electoral rigging in the 2013 general elections, sparking nationwide attention and legal scrutiny.
