The Home Department of Punjab has issued a notification enforcing Section 144 in Rawalpindi, Attock, and Sargodha for three days, starting from midnight tonight until October 6.
The decision has been taken to prevent public gatherings, sit-ins, and protests in the three districts due to potential security threats from disruptive elements.
The notification highlights that gatherings could become targets for miscreants, leading to the imposition of this restriction to ensure public safety and maintain order.
This move comes as part of precautionary measures to curb any untoward incidents.
Meanwhile, Rawalpindi Police have completed preparations for maintaining security in light of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest scheduled for Friday in Islamabad. Around 4,000 police personnel will be deployed across the city to ensure law and order.
Additionally, the district administration has requested the assistance of Rangers through the provincial government. Four companies of Rangers will support the police in their security operations.
