The Lahore High Court on Friday ordered that the issue regarding the ban on national cricket team players taking their families abroad be addressed to the appropriate forum.
Justice Shujaat Ali Khan presided over the hearing of a petition filed by advocate Faisal Waheed, who argued that the players’ families should not accompany them on international tours, claiming that this practice results in significant financial losses to the national exchequer.
Waheed further suggested that the players’ focus should solely remain on the sport, as engaging in commercial activities could affect their performance.
He cited the recent defeat of the Pakistani cricket team against the United States as an example of potential distractions.
In response, Justice Shujaat Ali Khan inquired whether the petitioner had previously raised the matter with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), adding that winning and losing are part of the game.
He advised the petitioner to submit a formal application to the PCB to resolve the issue through the proper channels.
