The Peshawar High Court has approved the transit bail of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, temporarily halting his arrest.
A two-member bench, led by Justice Arshad Ali, conducted the hearing. The court also directed the Chief Minister to appear before the concerned court.
During the proceedings, the Advocate General requested more than a month’s transit bail for the Chief Minister.
The court was informed that arrest warrants for Gandapur were issued by a local court just a day earlier.
The Chief Minister’s lawyer revealed that Gandapur had already secured bail in over a hundred cases, stating that as one case ends, another one is filed.
Justice Arshad Ali questioned the Advocate General about the nature of the current case.
In response, the Advocate General explained that multiple cases had been registered against the Chief Minister in various parts of Punjab.
Justice Arshad Ali remarked that the situation was now beyond their jurisdiction and questioned how the court could grant further bail.
The court stopped the arrest for the time being and will await further developments regarding the Chief Minister’s appearances in court.
