The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) provincial cabinet is set to approve a monthly housing subsidy of Rs200,000 for ministers based in Peshawar, in a move that has sparked significant discussion.

The amendment to the Salaries, Allowances, and Privileges Bill for ministers in KP will be a key item on the provincial cabinet's agenda today. If approved, ministers in Peshawar will receive a substantial housing subsidy to alleviate their housing expenses.
This decision follows recent increases in privileges for ministers, advisers, and special assistants from other districts, who have already seen their house rent allowance raised to Rs200,000. Additionally, there was a prior approval to grant Rs1 million for house repairs.
The financial challenges faced by the province have not deterred the move to enhance the benefits for its ministers. The provincial cabinet's expected approval will formalize these benefits, aiming to support the living standards of its officials in Peshawar.
