Babar's remarks come amidst preparations for the upcoming World Cup, with a keen focus on assembling the best possible team.

Addressing a presser in Lahore, Azam highlighted the team's collective goal of clinching victory in every series they embark upon.

Reflecting on the challenges posed by injuries, he stressed the importance of maintaining player fitness and nurturing bench strength. Azam expressed optimism regarding Mohammad Rizwan's recovery, expressing hope for his swift return to the lineup.

The skipper underscored the significance of consistency in team selection, noting, "If we have to go with a different mindset, check out different combinations, but try to use more of the same combination that we are going to use in the World Cup."

Dispelling notions of discord within the squad following recent defeats, Azam asserted, "I have played with every player in the team, so I think the team has good bonding."

Muhammad Rizwan, Irfan ruled out of Pak vs NZ series

Opening batsman Mohammad Rizwan and pacer Irfan Niazi have been sidelined from further participation in the series owing to injuries. In response, the team management has opted to provide them with much-needed rest to facilitate their recovery.

In a bid to manage player workload and explore alternative options, spinner Abrar Ahmed and fast bowler Abbas Afridi are expected to be benched for the third T20 match.

Looking ahead to the fourth match of the series, changes are anticipated in Pakistan's playing XI. Fakhar Zaman is likely to make way for the returning Irfan Niazi, while promising talent Haseebullah is poised to make his debut, stepping into the shoes of the injured Mohammad Rizwan.

Further alterations are on the cards with seasoned campaigner Imad Wasim primed to replace Abrar Ahmed, and the experienced Mohammad Amir slated to take the spot vacated by Abbas Afridi in the final eleven.
