Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed officials to ban mobile SIMs issued on ineffective and expired identity cards, highlighting the importance of upholding data integrity and safeguarding citizens' information.
The minister has taken decisive action to enhance security measures and streamline services at the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
During a visit to the NADRA headquarters, he received comprehensive briefings on various sectors, emphasizing the need for enhanced security measures and improved service delivery. In line with this directive, he instructed NADRA authorities to ensure the complete security of citizens' data while also enhancing mobile platforms to provide greater convenience to the public.
Additionally, he underscored the importance of leveraging social media platforms to effectively promote NADRA's initiatives and services.
Furthermore, Minister Naqvi outlined plans to establish model NADRA offices, akin to the successful model police stations established in Punjab. These model offices will prioritize efficiency and customer service, aiming to provide fast and reliable services to the public.
As part of efforts to ease bureaucratic processes, Naqvi announced the abolition of death certificate fees. To effectively deal with the issues of birth, death, marriage and divorce certificates, a system should be introduced along with the union council offices, he added.
In his remarks, Minister Naqvi reiterated the government's dedication to enhancing administrative efficiency and improving public services. By implementing measures to ensure data security, streamline processes, and enhance service accessibility, the government aims to strengthen governance and promote citizen welfare.
