President Asif Ali Zardari summoned a joint session of the parliament on April 18 (Thursday) at 4:00 pm.
According to details, the president approved the convening of a joint session of the parliament in line with Articles 54(1) and 56(3) of the constitution.

Few days back, Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong on Thursday called on President Asif Ali Zardari.
According to details, on this occasion, matters in line with mutual interests were also discussed.
During the meeting, it was emphasised to increase cooperation and intelligence sharing for counter-terrorism.
President vowed to take all measures necessary to ensure security of the Chinese citizens.
