A delegation of Pakistani businessmen and investors led by US-based Pakistani businessman Tanveer Ahmed met Balochistan Governor Jafar Khan Mandokhel in New York to discuss Pakistan’s economic situation, investment prospects and opportunities in Balochistan.
The meeting focused on the role of overseas Pakistanis in supporting Pakistan’s economy and the potential for investment across various sectors, particularly in Balochistan.
The delegation included Maximum’s Chief Executive Officer Uzair Hassan and other Pakistani businessmen and investors.
Governor highlights investment opportunities
During the meeting, Governor Mandokhel said the government was taking steps to achieve economic stability, promote trade and create a conducive environment for investment despite the challenges facing Pakistan.
He stressed the importance of the private sector, local investors and overseas Pakistanis in strengthening the country’s economy and supporting sustainable development.
The governor said overseas Pakistanis contribute significantly to Pakistan’s economy through remittances and described their commitment to the country as a valuable national asset.
He said there was a need to better connect the capital, expertise and experience of overseas Pakistanis with Pakistan’s productive economy.
Call for greater overseas investment
Mandokhel said Pakistan’s economic development required joint efforts from the government, business community, investors and overseas Pakistanis.
He expressed hope that Pakistani businessmen and investors based in the United States would play a more active role in Pakistan’s development and prosperity.
The governor also highlighted the investment potential of Balochistan and encouraged overseas Pakistani investors to explore opportunities in the province.
