Anne Hathaway has responded to online speculation questioning whether her pregnancy bump is real after photos from a recent film premiere went viral.
The 43-year-old actress addressed the comments on Monday, August 10, while sharing an Instagram video documenting her journey to the red carpet for her new film, The End of Oak Street.
Hathaway used the caption to directly respond to claims that her baby bump was fake.
“Fake hair, real bump,” she wrote, adding that her outfit was literally “melting” in the heat during the film's premiere festivities.
Viral photos spark speculation
Online speculation began after Hathaway appeared at the Los Angeles premiere on Sunday wearing a silk crop top and low-rise jeans that prominently showed her growing bump.
Some social media users questioned the appearance of her pregnancy, with comments claiming the bump looked artificial.

Hathaway's response appeared to put the speculation to rest, with the actress making it clear that while her hair may have been styled, her pregnancy is real.
Hathaway expecting third child
Hathaway announced her pregnancy with husband Adam Shulman on June 19 through an Instagram post showing her cradling her baby bump.
The couple are already parents to two sons, Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6.
During a recent appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Hathaway described the pregnancy as “amazing” and said the couple were surprised to discover they were expecting again.
“We were so shocked it worked,” she joked, referring to the pregnancy as their “buzzer-beater.”
Hathaway's latest response comes as she continues promoting The End of Oak Street while preparing to welcome her third child.
