Former captain Shahid Afridi has said that, given the national side’s recent performances, even Namibia will prove a difficult opponent.
Expressing his thoughts on Samaa TV programme 'Zor Ka Jor', he said that senior players are always fielded in major matches and maintained that the absence of Shaheen Afridi and Babar Azam should not make a difference to the side’s balance.
Afridi added that two to three changes are required in the national team to restore stability.
It is pertinent to note that Pakistan had beaten Netherlands and United States to gain momentum after defeating Australia in the home series. However, the Green Shirts were later outplayed by India in a one-sided contest by 61 runs, a defeat that severely dented team morale.
Pakistan must now win their final group-stage match against Namibia, scheduled for tomorrow, to secure qualification for the Super Stage of the 10th edition of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026.
