A terrorist attack targeted a security forces camp in the Boya area of North Waziristan, the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said on Friday.
According to ISPR, security forces responded swiftly and effectively, killing four terrorists during the exchange of fire.
The attackers were identified as members of Fitna al-Khawarij, an India-backed terrorist proxy group, who were attempting to infiltrate the area.
During the attack, the terrorists rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the camp’s outer wall, causing it to collapse. The blast also damaged nearby civilian houses and a mosque.
ISPR said that four Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred in the line of duty. The fallen soldiers were identified as Havaldar Muhammad Waqas, Naik Khanwaz, Sepoy Sufyan Haider, and Sepoy Rifat.
The cowardly terrorist assault also injured 15 civilians, including women and children.
The military stated that intelligence reports indicate the attack was planned and directed by terrorists operating from Afghanistan.
ISPR reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security forces remain determined to eliminate terrorism and those responsible for such attacks, while ensuring the protection of civilians.
