The 2023 Men's Cricket World Cup is approaching its crucial stage, with teams battling for a spot in the semi-finals and an eye on the tournament's prize money. The total prize pool for the event is $10 million, with the champions set to receive $4 million.
Each team has the opportunity to earn $40,000 for every victory in their Group Stage matches. In the event that a team doesn't advance to the knockout stage, they will receive $100,000 at the conclusion of the Group Stage.
The runners-up will be awarded $2 million, and teams reaching the semi-finals but not advancing further will each receive $800,000, all from the overall prize fund of $10 million.
It's worth noting that the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced during its Annual Conference in Durban, South Africa in July 2023 that it would provide equal prize money for both men's and women's cricket.

In terms of the tournament itself, India has already secured a place in the semi-finals, having won all eight of their matches and is currently leading the points table.
South Africa is in second place alongside India and has also booked a spot in the semi-finals, while Australia is in third place and is close to securing a semi-final berth.
On the other hand, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and the Netherlands are still in contention, battling fiercely for the coveted fourth place and aiming to qualify for the semi-finals. It's highly likely that either Pakistan or New Zealand will secure that fourth spot.
