Police assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Sudheer Abbasi was martyred and a constable injured when unidentified assailants opened fire near Faizabad on Monday.
Police from the Industrial Area Police Station reached the scene promptly. Injured Constable Jafar was shifted to hospital for treatment.The suspects fled the scene following the incident.
A search operation has been launched to apprehend the culprits.
