Israel has reportedly ordered its military to suspend what it described as "sensitive operations" in southern Lebanon following pressure from the United States.
According to reports, the decision came ahead of a new round of talks between Lebanon and Israel expected to take place in Rome next week. The Israeli military is also expected to begin withdrawing from pilot areas in southern Lebanon as part of the planned diplomatic engagement.
There were no further details on the scope of the operations being suspended or the areas from which Israeli forces are expected to withdraw.
The developments come as diplomatic efforts continue to reduce tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border and create conditions for further negotiations.
