The International Cricket Counci (lCC) has announced the players’ prize money following the conclusion of the T20 World Cup.
According to the ICC, a total of $11.25 million will be distributed among the players. India received the highest amount of $2.63 million in prize money, while New Zealand secured $1.42 million and South Africa more than $1 million.
The ICC said England earned $974,000 from the T20 World Cup. The West Indies received $538,000, while Pakistan obtained $522,000.
Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan also rank among the teams that received prize money. Each team secured at least $225,000 for participation. The prize money was allocated on the basis of performances in the group stage, Super Eight, semi-finals and the final.
