A civilian was killed and a security personnel injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in the Anzar Cheena is a location in the Shakai Tehsil in Lower South Waziristan on Saturday.
According to sources, the explosion took place along a roadside in the Anzar Cheena locality, targeting a passing security patrol. As a result, one civilian lost his life on the spot while a member of the security forces sustained injuries.
Following the incident, additional contingents of law enforcement personnel arrived at the site and cordoned off the area. A search operation was launched to locate further explosives and apprehend any suspects involved in the attack.
The body of the deceased and the injured security official were shifted to a nearby medical facility for necessary procedures.
