The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) parliamentary party meeting paid glowing tributes to party leader Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir for the successful execution of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos.
Chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the meeting saw lawmakers extend congratulations on the operation's success and offer prayers for the martyrs. During the session, party members expressed deep appreciation for the leadership and strategic coordination involved in the operation. They also thanked the government for initiating more than 80 development projects simultaneously across the province.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz personally greeted lawmakers at their seats, inquiring after their well-being and holding individual discussions. She delivered an in-depth, three-hour briefing on each development initiative.
Lawmakers were also briefed on Punjab’s first comprehensive and unique Beautification Plan, under which hanging power cables in district marketplaces will be placed underground. The plan also includes the establishment of cart bazaars in each district and tehsil, the beautification of canals in various cities, and the creation of food streets.
As part of the initiative, markets will be remodelled and urban infrastructure upgraded.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced the launch of the Punjab Development Plan, aiming to complete projects in 60 cities within this year. She further declared that 800 villages will be gradually transformed into model villages, with 400 kilometres of rural roads to be constructed or expanded in consultation with assembly members.
From next year, a fund of Rs250 billion will be allocated for road construction and expansion across Punjab.
Other key announcements included – Provision of 1,100 electric buses across all districts, construction of 100,000 houses by year-end, launch of metro bus services in Faisalabad and Gujranwala, initiation of an ART transport project on Lahore Canal Road, introduction of ration cards for the underprivileged, establishment of WASA offices in every major city, development of Centres of Excellence for Kids in every division
Meanwhile, expressing her thoughts, CM Maryam Nawaz said: "Under the Lahore Development Plan, 6,000 streets, sewerage lines, and water tanks are being constructed. “Public money is now being spent on the public.”
“We are working with sincerity, and by the grace of Allah, we will be rewarded,” she said. She also claimed the current Ramazan Package as the most transparent in history.
Maryam Nawaz reiterated that the interests of both the public and farmers remain paramount. In Lahore, 450 kilometres of sewer lines are being laid. She expressed gratitude to her team for their support in public service.
Federal Adviser Rana Sanaullah praised the chief minister’s initiatives for the common man. Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan also thanked Maryam Nawaz for her leadership.
Prayers were offered for the late MPA Arshad Warraich and the father of MPA Faisal.
