A power tussle between top jail officials in Sindh has taken an ugly turn, with leaked WhatsApp voice messages revealing abusive language and threats exchanged between Inspector General (IG) of Prisons Qazi Nazir and DIG Headquarters Hasan Sahito.
According to details, the dispute over administrative authority escalated to the point where DIG Headquarters Hasan Sahito wrote a formal complaint to the Sindh Chief Secretary, requesting action against IG Prisons Qazi Nazir.
In the letter, Sahito alleged that since May 1, IG Nazir had been sending insulting and inappropriate messages, prompting the shutdown of the official WhatsApp group after May 3.
Sahito further claimed that due to continued verbal abuse, he had to block the IG’s number. He urged the Chief Secretary to initiate an immediate inquiry into IG Qazi Nazir’s conduct.
