After ordering an air fryer from Amazon, a Colombian woman was quite surprised to discover that her box had a lizard instead of the expected air fryer. Sofia Serrano posted a photo of the lizard she discovered inside the Amazon shipment in a post on X that has received over 4.1 million views to date.
“We ordered an air fryer through Amazon, and it arrived with a companion. I don't know if it was Amazon's fault or the carrier's fault... good morning,” Serrano’s post, translated from Spanish to English.
Social media users responded to this "scary" incident by calling it "one of the strongest horror stories" they had "heard in recent years."
One person said, "I feel bad for the little animal; it must be scared, hungry, and thirsty. I'll die if this happens to me."
In the comments section, several readers advised Serrano to get in touch with the closest environmental organization in her region.
"You have to contact the environmental entity in your region, environmental police or other environmental entity that takes care of that reptile," a user remarked.
Speaking to the Spanish newspaper Marca, Serrano expressed her horror at discovering a large lizard in place of the air fryer she had bought.
