The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued an advisory for government officers and employees barring their participation in any political activity.
As per the circular issued, government officials and employees are prohibited from participating in election activities, and the leave of government officials is subjected to the permission of Returning Officers (ROs).
The district officers are subject to leave permission from DROs while the provincial secretariat and directorates officers will first approve the leave from the Chief Secretary while final approval of leave will be obtained from DROs.
The ECP advisory issued the federal government employees up to 19th grade will get leave sanctioned from DROs.
“Officers in grade 20 and above will have to take leave approval from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP),” an advisory stated.
