Kukush Lake is also known

as Baha Lake is situated in Ghizer district of Gilgit Baltistan. It is 20km

away from Barsat. The car can go as far as 11km; the traveler has to take a

walk for about two hours thirty minutes after that to reach the lake.

People come to this lake

for fishing as it offers life to sea animals. Trout fish is found in this lake

in very good quantity. The government has set a fee of PKR 10,000 for fishing

at the lake.

One of the visitors says,

‘The road towards the lake is difficult because there is no infrastructure or

track here. However, you forget about the difficulties once you see the color

and scenery of this lake.’

The water of this lake

comes from the melting glaciers on the mountains. It is frozen from the month

of November to April every year.
