NA-247, Karachi:

Voters: 543,964

Number of polling stations: 240

Previously known as NA-250

One of the most hotly contested seats for the National Assembly is NA-247 Karachi South II, which is made up of Defence, Clifton Cantonment Board, Saddar, Karachi Cantonment and Arambagh. NA-247 is made up of areas that were previously in NA-250.

Candidates:
Dr Arif Alvi of the PTI.

Muhammad Hussain Mehenti of the JI-MMA is a longtime member of the JI and its former Karachi chief.

Fauzia Kasuri of the PSP and was formerly with the PTI.

Farooq Sattar of the MQM is a former MNA. former convener of the MQM. His troubles began when the MQM split.

Jibran Nasir is an independent here. He is an activist and lawyer, who campaigns on social issues, and is expected to cash in on the youth vote.
