LAHORE: Information Technology University (ITU) is holding 5th Robotics Expo on Saturday at Arfa Software Technology Park Lahore.
The Expo will display 14 robot prototypes, addressing locally relevant problems of Pakistan, successfully designed and built by the undergraduate third-semester students of ITU.
Dr. Umar Saif is Vice Chancellor of the ITU. He has extensive experience in academia, management, consulting and entrepreneurship in the IT sector.
The IT Park building has been named after Arfa Abdul Karim Randhawa, a Pakistani student and computer prodigy. She became the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional at the age of nine in 2004. She kept the title until 2008.
She died on 14 January 2012, aged 16, following a cardiac arrest.
On 15 January 2012, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced that the name of Lahore Technology Park would be changed to Arfa Software Technology Park. – Samaa/APP
