LONDON: Bearded Sikh model, Harnaam Kaur, a 24-year-old resident of Berkshire, UK, has made it to the Guinness World Records for being the youngest woman with a fully-grown beard.
The facial hair is about 6 inches long, including a beard and a light moustache.
Harnaam Kaur is a body positive campaigner, suffering from polycystic ovary syndrome, a hormonal condition that, among other symptoms, results in the growth of excess facial hair. The beard has been a part of her quest to overcome years of bullying to cope and final accept her appearance for what it is.
The model, who made her appearance on the runway at London Fashion Week in March this year and became the first female to walk the ramp with a natural grown beard, said she finds it “ absolutely humbling” to have her name included in the records.
Other record holders in this year’s Guinness so far includes the world’s longest pet cat and a high-jumping llama. –SAMAA
