Role of LHVs, LHSs cannot be ignored: Ahsan

SIALKOT: Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has stressed upon the need for making all out sincere efforts for promotion of health of mother and child by raising awareness.

He said that a healthy mother could produce a healthy society  which has now become vital for a prosperous and strong Pakistan.

He stated this while addressing a special ceremony held at Narowal under the auspices of Health Department, after
distributing the  letters of regularization among the adhoc lady health workers and  lady health supervisors here on Sunday.

MPAs Rana Manan Khan, Khawaja Muhammad Waseem Butt, DCO Narowal Syed Najaf Iqbal, EDO (Health) Dr. Zubair Chawla and President PML-N Narowal Malik Tariq Awan were also present.

Federal Minister said that lady health workers and lady health supervisors have been playing a vital role in promotion of better  health and care of mother and children in the society which could never be ignored.

He said the government was raising steps to ensure better health  and medical cover to the people at local level.

Syed Najaf Iqbal, DCO Narowal said that Punjab government has regularized as many as 1100 Lady Health Visitors (LHVs) and 41 Lady Health Supervisors (LHS) and 40 drivers of Narowal Health Department. – APP
