Jhelum labourers are worried about returning home as they claim that train and bus services remain suspended for them.
Seven trains make a stop at the Jhelum station but no train will be stopping at the station now. Only one train from Rawalpindi will cross the station.
“I want to go to Sadiqabad,” said a labourer. “I don’t know how will I travel as trains aren’t functioning.”
The buses, on the other hand, aren’t running even though the Punjab government has allowed public transport to resume operations.
The bus drivers are on strike against the government’s decision to carry fewer people on their vehicles and decrease fares.
“How are we expected to meet our families now?” a labourer asked. The workers have asked the government to take notice of this and help them.
