It will soon be easier to host public events as Google Maps is letting some Android users create parties and meet-ups. The feature is at the early release stage.
Android Police discovered that some Android users were able to use this option, Engadget reported. It can be accessed through the ‘contribute’ tab, where you have to pick a location and add the event name.
You can also add the ‘start date’ and ‘start time’ of the event, along with an optional description, categories and web links.
AP had to wait an hour for the event to show on the app, and also experienced problems adding photos to the event.
It is only available in limited regions, as users in Canada were not able to access it. There is still no announcement from Google on the release.
