The story of how Snapchat was created is being turned into a video series by Quibi.
The platform is a short-form streaming service designed for mobile users. Quibi is short for ‘quick bites’ so the series episodes are likely to be less than 10 minutes each.
The show will be called Frat Boy Genius, and will be based on a screenplay that made last year’s Black List of best unproduced films, reported The Verge.
According to Deadline, the show “follows a disgruntled employee of Snapchat who tells the story about the rise of her former Stanford classmate, ‘preeminent douchebag and the current boss’ Evan Spiegel.”
The goal is to produce a project similar to David Fincher’s 2010 Oscar-winning film, The Social Network, which told Facebook’s origin story and explored CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s involvement.
