Outstanding innings from Colin Munro and Iftikhar Ahmed helped Islamabad United in securing a comfortable eight-wicket win against Karachi Kings in the match 22 of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 in Abu Dhabi on Monday.

Chasing a mammoth total of 191 to secure their place in the playoffs, United never lost two wickets early but a match-winning 150-run partnership for the third-wicket between Munro and Iftikhar took United home in the 19th over at the expense of just two wickets.

The New Zealand opening batsman was the top-scorer for the winning team on the night as he remained unbeaten on 88 off 56 balls with the help of 12 fours and two sixes.

He was well-supported by Iftikhar who scored 71 not out off 39 balls with the help of five fours and five sixes.

Earlier, after being asked to bat first, Kings posted a competitive total of 190 for the loss of four wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Opener Babar Azam played a brilliant knock of 81 off 54 balls with the help of seven fours and three sixes.

He was well-supported by Najibullah Zadran who scored 71 not out off 42 balls with the help of five fours and four sixes.
