Pakistan clinch easy win over Northampton in practice match

Pakistan clinched a comfortable eight-wicket victory over Northamptonshire in their limited-over tour game at Wantage Road on Monday. ​​​​​​

The tourists successfully chased the 274-run target set by Northants in 41 overs.

Pakistan openers Imam-ul-Haq and Zaman put on 157-run partnership with the latter reaching his century off 77 balls before he was cleaned up by Nathan Buck four balls later for 101.

Ian Holland managed to disturb Imam’s furniture shortly after the opener made 71 but Babar Azam, who remained unbeaten at 68 and skipper Sarfraz Ahmed (30) led the side to a win.

Joshua Cobb struck his career-best List A score of 146 which came from 145 deliveries and included 12 fours and six sixes. Brett Hutton’s unbeaten 27 was the next highest score.

Pakistani bowlers Mohammad Amir, Junaid Khan, Mohammad Hasnain, Imad Wasim, Yasir Shah and Haris Sohail all managed to take one wicket each.
