Members of Pakistan’s 15-member World Cup squad will not be allowed to take their wives and kids with them to the World Cup.
The players can bring their families along with them for the series of England but cannot be with them during the World Cup that begins right after it.
Skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed had requested that the players be allowed to be with their families during the World Cup as well, but the request has been denied by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) so that the players focus on cricket.
Pakistan have previously given the players permission to travel to tours with their wives, with the successful Champions Trophy campaign being one of them. However, many sports teams have been known to prevent this in the past in order to ensure that the players have as few distractions as possible during a major event.
