UEFA has charged Juventus attacker Cristiano Ronaldo over improper conduct after celebrating a goal against Atletico Madrid in the round-of-16 stage of the Champions League.
The Portuguese captain was mimicking Atletico manager Diego Simeone who indulged in inappropriate behaviour during his side’s 2-0 first-leg victory. Simeone was fined €20,000 for his behavior.
Ronaldo made the gesture after scoring a hat-trick in second-leg of the Madrid derby.
The final judgment will be announced on March 21.
Juventus will play Ajax in the quarter-final stage of the Champions League on April 11.
