Kamran Akmal – a master class with the bat
Kamran Akmal was the star performer of the fixture with his 86-run knock against Karachi Kings. His early onslaught — which included 10 boundaries and five sixes — helped Zalmi finish at 203-5 in their 20 overs.
The 137-run opening partnership between Kamran Akmal and Imam-ul-Haq paved the way for Peshawar to post a mammoth total of 203 runs in 20 overs. The batsmen played responsibly and went for the big hits as Kamran top-scored in the innings with 86 runs while Imam made 59 runs for the side.
Bad day with the bat for Karachi Kings
Karachi Kings did not fair well with the bat against Peshawar Zalmi as their batsmen could not score according to the asking rate. The side managed to hit just 13 fours and five sixes in chase of 204-run target and were bowled out for 142 in 16.2 overs in front of their home crowd.
Amir’s magic with the ball
Mohammad Amir showed why he is still considered as one of the top bowlers in the world. In his quota of four overs, Amir returned impressive figures of 3-24. The best thing about his spell was 13 dot balls out of the total 24 that he delivered.
Hasan Ali continues to shine
Hasan Ali, with 21 wickets in 10 matches, is the highest wicket-taker in this PSL. Against Kings, too, Hasan took three crucial wickets of Colin Munro, Imad Wasim and Sohail Khan to help Zalmi win the last league match and top the points table.
Zalmi’s fast bowling resources
In this edition when every other franchise is relying on its medium pacers or spinners, Zalmi has its pace factor to deliver positive results for them. Hasan Ali, Wahab Riaz and Tymal Mills, though deceptively slow, lead the attack and successfully dismantle any opposition that comes their way.
