UAE trounce Bangladesh in Emerging Asia Cup fixture

United Arab Emirates picked up a 97-run win over Bangladesh in their Emerging Teams Asia Cup fixture in Karachi on Tuesday.

UAE, batting first, posted a total of 267 in 49.4 overs. Ashfaq Ahmed was unlucky to miss out on a century after being dismissed off 98 runs off 93 deliveries.

Rohan Mustafa made 40 off 70 deliveries while Shaiman Anwar chipped in with his knock of 34.

Shoriful Islam was the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh, finishing with figures of 4-55 in 10 overs. Khaled Ahmed took three wickets.

The Bangladesh side, chasing a target of 268, were bowled out for 170 runs in 36.5 overs.

MizanurRahman made 43 runs off 62 balls after hitting four boundaries in the match. Shafiul Islam contributed 32 runs with the bat while Shoriful Islam scored 31.

Ahmed Raza and Imran Haider took four wickets each.

Ashfaq Ahmed was named man of the match for his batting performance.
