Rovman Powell smashes 61 to help his side clinch first title
Northern Warriors beat Pakhtoons by 22 runs to win the 2018 T10 League in Sharjah on Sunday.
The Darren Sammy-led Northern Warriors were sent in to bat but posted a strong total of 140/3, thanks in large parts to Rovman Powell, who smashed 61 runs off just 25 balls, hitting eight fours and four maximums along the way.
Powell was well supported by compatriot Andre Russell, who made 38 runs with three boundaries and four sixes to his name.
Wicketkeeper batsman Nicholas Pooran and Sammy made 18 and 14 runs respectively.
Mohammad Irfan, Sharafuddin Sharif and skipper Shahid Afridi took a wicket each.
In reply, Pakhtoons managed 118/7 in 10 overs. Andre Fletcher was the top scorer with 37 runs off 18 balls, which included two fours and four maximums, while Shafiqullah Shafiq made 26 off 16.
Afridi contributed 17 runs for the team, while Liam Dawson and Sohail Khan made 12 runs each for the side.
Chris Green and Hardus Viljoen picked up two wickets each.
