Alyssa Healy’s performance with the bat helped Australia trounce Pakistan by 52 runs in their Women’s World Twenty20 fixture in Providence.
Australia, batting first, scored 165/5 in their 20 overs with Healy scoring 48 runs from 29 deliveries with eight boundaries and a six to her name.
Her opening partner Beth Mooney made 48 runs for the side after hitting six fours.
The openers put up a 72 run partnership on the first wicket.
Meg Lanning chipped in with her knock of 41 runs with included three boundaries and a maximum.
Nashra Sandhu and Aliya Riaz grabbed two wickets for the girls in green.
The Kangaroos restricted Pakistan to 113/8 in their 20 overs thanks to Megan Schutt’s performance with the ball.
Schutt finished with 2/13 in her four overs while Georgia Wareham also took two wickets in the game.
Bismah Maroof was the top scorer for the team with 26 runs to her name while Umaima Sohail and Sana Mir made 20 runs each for the team.
Healy was named Player of the Match.
