Umaid Asif picked up five wickets as Pakistan A defeated New Zealand A by eight wickets in the first Twenty20 International in Dubai on Saturday.
New Zealand, electing to bat, were dismissed for 65 runs. Only two batsmen managed to score in double figures.
Tim Seifert made 26 runs and skipper Corey Anderson scored 16 runs for the team.
Umaid Asif finished with the figures of 5/20 in four overs. Waqas Maqsood and Shaheen Shah Afridi picked up two wickets each.
Pakistan chased the target of 66 runs in 12.5 overs, with eight wickets in hand.
Iftikhar Ahmed scored 26 runs while captain Umar Amin made 20 runs for the team. Hussain Talat scored 16 runs.
Kyle Jamieson picked up one wicket for the Blackcaps.
Pakistan A lead the three-match Twenty20 series by 1-0. The second game will be played in Dubai on October 15.
The third and final T20 will be played on October 17 in Dubai.
