Shahid Afridi was dismissed after making just one run
The Kabul Zwanans beat the Paktia Panthers by three wickets in the opening fixture of the Afghanistan Premier League in Sharjah on Friday.
The Paktia Panthers, being sent to bat first, were restricted to 218 runs in 20 overs with Sikandar Raza scoring an unbeaten knock of 78 runs. Mohammad Shahzad made 67 runs.
Shahid Afridi was dismissed after making just one run.
Zahir Shehzad grabbed two wickets for Kabul Zwanans while Wayne Parnell and Fareed Ahmed picked up a wicket each.
The Kabul Zwanans chased down the target of 219 in 19.1 overs with three wickets in hand. Laurie Evans contributed 79 runs with the help of five boundaries and six sixes.
Hazratullah Zazai and Javed Ahmedi made 25 and 24 runs for the side.
Paktia’s Tahir Khan and Sharfuddin Ashraf took two wickets each.
