Pakistani-British boxer Amir Khan proved his mettle once again after securing a unanimous points win over Samuel Vargus.
The bout was King Khan’s second of the year after he returned from a two-year hiatus to beat Phil Lo Greco on April 21.
Khan won the fight comfortably, over 12 rounds, 119-108 119-109 118-110.
The former light-welterweight world champion, who had dropped Phil Lo Greco twice in under 39 seconds, was given a much sterner test by Vargas.
Khan’s blistering hand-speed helped him drop his Colombian counterpart twice.
The 31-year-old boxer was also floored himself, but he recovered just in time to scrape a win.
The fight, which was held at Arena Birmingham, was an eliminator for the World Boxing Association welterweight title held by Manny Pacquiao.
