PCB awards: Sarfraz Ahmed receives Imtiaz Ahmed Spirit of Cricket Trophy

Pakistan cricket captain Sarfraz Ahmed was awarded the Imtiaz Ahmed Spirit of Cricket Trophy at the annual PCB awards ceremony held in Karachi on Wednesday night.

“The captaincy is not an easy task,” Pakistan’s captain said. “The boys’ hard work paid off.”

Speaking to cricketers and board officials, PCB Chairperson Najam Sethi said it was his target to organise eight PSL matches in Pakistan.

It would be damaging for Pakistan’s cricket if we don’t stick to our plan, Sethi said.

Fakhar Zaman, the opening batsman, was also given an award for his outstanding performance.

Sana Mir, the former Pakistan women team captain, bagged the best ODI player of the year award.

Hassan Ali, the right-arm pace, was given the best ODI player of the year award in men’s category.

Babar Azam, the middle-order batsman, was awarded the best T20 player of the year award.

All-rounder Faheem Ashraf won the emerging cricketer of the year award.

Sidra Nawaz won the best wicket-keeper award in domestic category.

Kamran Akmal was declared the best wicket keeper in the domestic category.

Shan Masood bagged the best batsman in domestic cricket award.
