A record opening stand by Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq helped Pakistan thrash Zimbabwe by 244 runs in the fourth ODI at Bulawayo on Friday.

Pakistan lead the five match series 4-0.

Batting first, the visitors amassed 399/1 in their overs. Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq scored put on a record opening partnership of 304 runs.

The previous record of 286 runs was held by Sri Lanka’s Sanath Jayasuriya and Upul Tharanga.

Fakhar Zaman became the first Pakistani player to score a double century in a one-day game. He smashed 210 runs from 156 balls with the help of 24 boundaries and five sixes.

Haq contributed 113 runs with the bat as he scored eight boundaries.

Wellington Masakadza was the only wicket taker for the hosts.

Zimbabwe, chasing a mammoth target of 400 runs, were bowled out for 155 runs in 42.4 overs.

Donald Tiripano was the top scorer with 44 runs with five boundaries to his name. Elton Chigumbura made 37 runs with the help of a six.

Zimbabwe captain Hamilton Masakadza contributed 22 runs with the bat after hitting two boundaries and two six.

Shadab Khan was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up four wickets in 8.4 overs. Usman Khan and Faheem Ashraf took two wickets each.

Junaid Khan and Shoaib Malik also dismissed one Zimbabwe batsman each in the one-sided game as well.
