Pakistan Hockey Federation has said that the side may not be able to perform in the upcoming Asian Games if their funds are not released.
“We can only start preparations if there are funds,” manager Hassan Sardar said in a press conference in Karachi. “Our entry into the tournament can be in jeopardy if there are no funds,” he warned.
“The team will look different in Asian Games and the World Cup.”
Captain Rizwan Sr asked how the team will win if there is no money.
He added that the players are upset about not being paid. He urged the government to release the funds immediately so the players can be given their salaries.
Roelent Oltmans, the head coach of the hockey team, said that they are not satisfied with the team’s recent performance. He added that the board is working on the players’ fitness.
