Ponting to become part of Australia’s coaching staff

SYDNEY: Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting will be a part of Australia’s coaching staff for the upcoming Twenty20 tri-series against England and New Zealand.

He will be the as assistant coach to Darren Lehmann along with join Troy Cooley and Matthew Mott.

The former Australian cricketer has previously worked with the team for a series against Sri Lanka in 2017.

Indian Premier League franchise Delhi Daredevils has named Ponting its Head Coach.

Commenting on Ponting’s appointment, Lehmann said that its was an exciting prospect for the coaches and the players to take advantage of Ponting’s Twenty20 knowledge and work with one of the country’s all-time great cricketers.

He added that it will be exciting for the players as well.
