News from the center: Maratha Arabians captain Virender Sehwag won the toss and elected to bowl first against Pakhtoons in the second match of the inaugural T10 Cricket League at Sharjah.

Sehwag says: “I enjoyed the first game very much. In such a format, it is important to bowl dot balls which will create pressure on the opposition.”

Shahid Afridi said: “This format can help expand the cricket. We would love to see this format become popular around the world.”

SHARJAH: Maratha Arabians will clash with Pakhtoons Team in the second game of inaugural edition of T10 Cricket League at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in UAE today (Thursday).

Legendary Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has been tasked with leading the Arabians side while star Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi will captain the Pakhtoons team.

Both the teams are laced with some of the best cricketers from India, South Africa, Bangladesh, Pakistan, West Indies, Sri Lanka, England and UAE.

Pakistan: 11 PM
India: 11:30 PM
Bangladesh: 12 AM

The tournament will be played from 14th till 17th December with a round robin followed by semifinals and the final.

Players taking part in the tournament were drafted into six teams namely Pakhtoons, Team Sri Lanka Cricket, Punjabi Legends, Kerala Kings, Bengal Tigers and Maratha Arabians.

The six teams have been divided into two groups of three apiece, with Group A consisting of Bengal Tigers, Kerala Kings and Punjabi Legends while Group B having Maratha Arabians, Pakhtoon and Team Sri Lanka Cricket.

Each game will take approximately 90 minutes to finish which is half the length of a T20 fixture.
