DHAKA: Hosts Dhaka Dynamites defeated Rangpur Riders by 43 runs in the 41st match of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2017 on Wednesday, Samaa reported.

Batting first, Dhaka Dynamites scored 137/7 in their 20 overs with skipper Shakib Al Hasan being their top scorer.

He made 47 runs from 33 balls with the help of two fours and two sixes.

Mehedi Maruf scored 33 runs from 23 balls with three boundaries and a maximum to his name while Evin Lewis contributed 14 runs with the bat which included two fours.

Rubel Hossain and Ebadat Hossain grabbed two wickets each for Rangpur Riders while Samuel Badree, Nahidul Islam and Abdur Razzak dismissed one Dhaka batsman each.

Dhaka Dynamites is at third place with 13 points after winning six out of their 11 matches in the tournament so far while Rangpur Riders is at fourth place with six victories from their 11 matches in the tournament as well.

Chasing 138 runs to win, Rangpur Riders could only manage 94/7 in their 20 overs.

Ravi Bopara was the top scorer for the Riders as he remained unbeaat at 28 runs which included a six and a boundary while Johnson Charles made 26 runs with the help of two maximums.

Shakib Al Hasan and Abu Hider grabbed two wickets each for Dhaka while Mosaddek Hossain, Sunil Narine and Mohammad Amir dismissed one batsman as well.
