DHAKA: The Dhaka leg of the Bangladesh Premier League is all set to be rescheduled, with evening games beginning at 6:30 PM local time instead of 7 PM, BPL officials said on Sunday (November 5).
The decision could not be implemented immediately in the Sylhet phase as it would create broadcast hassle.
“We would start the second game half-an-hour earlier from Dhaka phase,” BPL governing council secretary Ismail Haider Mallick said on Sunday.
“We cannot do it here as there is lot of things involved but it won’t be the case in Dhaka,” he said.
Officials also confirmed that both games played on Fridays will start at start at 2 PM local time and 6:30 PM local time, instead of 1:30 and 6 PM local respectively.
Both Mashrafe Mortaza and Darren Sammy – captains of Rangpur Riders and Rajshahi Kings respectively – said after their game on the first day of the season on Saturday (November 4), that dew played a big part during their game and winning the toss will prompt every skipper to field first.
The Sylhet phase of BPL ends on November 8, with the Dhaka leg commencing on November 11.
